Indianapolis Birth Doula Support
Every birth story is as unique as the family writing it.
Your support should be just as personal.
From first contractions to first cuddles,
your IBP birth doulas are here to help you navigate it all.
At Indiana Birth & Postpartum, our birth doulas embrace one essential truth: your birth story belongs to you.
We're not here to collect statistics or impose our views about where you should deliver, which care provider to choose, or how you should give birth. Instead, we believe in building a relationship founded on mutual trust and respect. You can count on us to prepare you thoroughly, support you wholeheartedly, and be there when you need us most. In return, we trust completely in your ability to make the best choices for yourself and your little one. This partnership, built on understanding and genuine support, allows us to serve you exactly as you need.
Congratulations on this remarkable chapter you're sharing with your baby!
Whether this is your first time or fifth, the blend of excitement and uncertainty makes every pregnancy uniquely special.
Before diving into birth plans and delivery preparations, take a moment to marvel at the extraordinary experience unfolding between you and your baby- a partnership that will deepen with each passing month. This precious collaboration, this exact combination of you and your little one, has never existed before in history! You're both working in perfect harmony, growing and changing together day by day, maybe with some unwelcomed nausea and extra naps, all leading up to that magical moment when you'll meet face to face. During the challenging days (because yes, they'll come), remember to be gentle with yourself. Give yourself permission to rest, to feel all your feelings, and to celebrate the small victories. After all, this adventure you're sharing is truly one of life's most extraordinary experiences.

The
body ready method™
With Jordan
Indiana Birth & Postpartum proudly offers personalized Body Ready Method™ alignment assessments with Jordan. This evidence-based, scientifically-backed program provides a comprehensive analysis of your unique perinatal body. Working one-on-one, we help you build strength and prepare optimally for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. By making subtle adjustments to your daily movements and introducing gentle, targeted exercises, we align your body for a smoother, more efficient birth experience. These same techniques have proven effective in relieving common pregnancy discomforts that are often mistakenly accepted as "normal" in our society.
-
Upper Body Mobility – Enhances flexibility and strength, optimizing posture and breath support throughout your pregnancy journey.
Core Function – Promotes core engagement to minimize abdominal separation and maintain stability.
Pelvic Alignment – Encourages balanced movement patterns that facilitate a smoother, more efficient birth process.
Pelvic Floor Integration – Focuses on responsiveness rather than just strength, properly preparing your body for birth and postpartum recovery.
Mindful Movement – Teaches refined everyday movement patterns that better support your changing body during pregnancy and beyond.
-
Initial Evaluation: We will start with an intake form and your profile photos to prepare a blueprint for your visit. Once we are together in person we will use movement and touch to assess which specific exercises and stretches will be most helpful to build alignment and strength in your body. These exercises will have a focus on the pillars mentioned above.
Hands on Techniques- Next, Jordan will provide hands on muscle releases and positions to help relieve tension in your body. This will lay the foundation for the continuing exercises and education you will incorporate into your daily life and exercise routines.
Follow up- After your BRM session, Jordan will provide you with a detailed custom exercise plan and continued text support. You will also have the ability to schedule additional 1:1 in-person or zoom evaluations as needed.
The Process
Let's break it down!
-
We start with an initial welcome/intake phone, and only schedule phone calls if we have availability for your due date. During this initial phone call, we learn more about you, give a brief overview of what it looks like to hire an IBP birth team, and answer any questions you have.
-
Next, you will meet your birth team on Zoom! IBP uses the partnership model which means you have the same two doulas supporting you equally throughout your pregnancy (no backups you've never met at your birth). We have you fill out a quick questionnaire and submit it back to us before we meet. During our time together you will get to know us on a personal level, and we get to know you as well. Our Zoom consultations usually last around 30-45 minutes, but there's not an end time scheduled- so take all the time you need! We offer to hold your spot on our due date calendar for one week after your consult. After one week, your due date will be released to the next family in line.
-
Once you decide to hire an IBP birth team, you will receive your proposal that includes our contract and invoice. Typically, clients pay the birth fee in full with the signing of the contract, but we are also happy to break it up into two payments (or more). After the contract is signed and the invoice is paid, we are offically your doulas!
-
Your doula team goes on call immediately after we send our onboarding email after hiring us. We're accessible by phone call or text whenever you need us throughout your pregnancy. And if your sweet baby decides to come early, one of your doulas will be there for you. Our labor on-call schedule doesn't follow your due date window (37-41 weeks). We've learned when babies arrive early, you need your doula. You can reach out to your doulas about anything- we're your birth besties!
-
Included in our birth doula service are two in-home prep sessions- your Birth Prep & Postpartum Prep. These are scheduled around 28 weeks, and we like to complete them no later than 34 weeks. One doula will do your Birth Prep, and the other doula will do your Postpartum Prep. Before these take place, we will connect with you to discuss what childbirth education class you’ve taken (if it’s outside The Birth Day class we offer) and also learn more about your birth goals.
-
It's baby time! The doula on call will join you during labor whenever you're ready. This is typically when active labor begins, but it's different for everyone. Since we know your wants and wishes beforehand, we go to work supporting you in all the ways you need, when you need it. After delivery and everything settles down, we get you all tucked in making sure you have everything you need before we leave.
-
The doula who supported you during your birth will be the one to visit you after you're discharged. We like to complete this follow-up visit within the first two weeks after baby arrives.
-
While your doula team isn't on call after your birth, we are accessible and available! It's not uncommon for us to have birth clients call or text us during the fresh postpartum phase more than they did during pregnancy, and we love it! The relationship doesn't end after your birth. Once we're your doulas, we're always your doulas.

Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from my IBP doulas during my pregnancy?
While birth doulas are often associated with labor and delivery support, our care begins the moment you choose us. We provide comprehensive support throughout your entire pregnancy journey, not just on delivery day. Our approach combines hands-on labor support with dedicated prenatal guidance, ensuring you feel supported, informed, and empowered every step of the way.
What’s the advantage of a doula partnership for birth?
Get to know both of us from day one! Unlike agencies that rely on outside backup doulas, we guarantee that a familiar face - someone you've built a genuine connection with - will be there for your baby's arrival. As partners, we provide double the support and expertise with no extra cost. When it's time, you can count on seeing one of us walk through your door, ready to support you through this incredible moment.
Why hire a birth doula?
While the dream of meeting your baby may seem crystal clear, getting to that point might not be as straightforward. It starts to feel overwhelming when you begin thinking how you're going to get through it! For many parents, it’s around this time of uncertainty when parents start looking for doula support to add to their birth team. For us, it’s not about how you have your baby. It’s more about how you feel when you have your baby. Were you heard? Were you respected? Were you cared for? Did you feel strong? One sure thing- on the day you give birth to your baby, you will be the strongest you’ve ever been regardless of how it happens. As your doulas, we are committed to helping you create a space where these feelings unfold.
When should I hire IBP?
The sooner, the better! We book up very quickly, so it's never too early with us.
